"Maggie Mae" Mighty
Maggie Mae LT NA - the LT stands for long tail as she was never docked. Maggie
came to live with me before Thanksgiving 2004. She was only 10 months
old and was surrendered to WTCARES by her current owners. Maggie
was showing signs of aggression toward people and especially with
small children. We have worked through all her issues with
people and she loves just about everyone! One exception...partially
bald men! Unfortunately, her aggression toward people was the tip
of the iceburg. She is also dog aggressive. Everyday with Maggie is a
challenge and she is getting bettter at controlling herself around other dogs.
I know that she will never be a normal social dog. She quickly wormed her way into my heart and despite her issues, she is here to stay. Maggie loves agility, she is already known for her awesome 2 on 2
off contacts and she loves to bark at me while she is running. I
have high hopes for this girl in the future!! My goals for Maggie have shifted in the past
few months. This girl is such an awesome teacher and has forced me to stop and listen to her! We all need to stop
and watch and listen to what our dogs are telling us. For now, Maggie and I are enjoying each other and I am meeting
her in her world. She is enjoying her daily "sniff" walks as we work on our relationship. Maggie earned
her first agility title in December of 2008. She now has her AKC Novice Standard Title. Maggie seems to like her
new little brother Neumann. I often catch her play bowing outside of his ex-pen. He barks at her and play bows
back and she does not react. I think she really likes him! Time will tell as I will soon see if they can play
together with out a barrier. Maggie is funny with him and won't let me watch her play with him. She stops
as soon as I look into the kitchen. I don't think she is ready to let others know that she really does like him.
